It’s that time of year again. Summer touring season. While I maintain a busy schedule year round, the summer always hits particularly hard and leaves me with too many miles on my car (thank goodness for Volvo life expectancy!), too little sleep, and not nearly enough music on my iPod. I’m trying to change all of that though.
In an effort to put time and energy into other areas of my life, I’ve slowly been modifying my schedule (even eliminating some performance dates) to allow more flexibility for sleeping (yes, it can be a challenge!), eating well, running, reading, writing and other business endeavors on the horizon. And importantly, less time spent sitting for 8+ hours in the driver’s seat of my car. Think working at a computer takes a toll on your body? Try driving for extreme stretches.
Though changes are afoot, I’ve nevertheless had little time as of yet to post updates here. And it’s a shame, really, because some really great things have been happening! From minimalist shoe research, to my continued awesome recovery & my first 10K since injury, to great new places to run, nighttime trail running adventures, and my first experience running with a group! It’s been an exciting time, I’ve been consistently running and slowly increasing my mileage again, and the future is looking very bright!
All that to say, as a result of the changes I’m making to my schedule, I should be back and more active here on the blog very soon! In the meantime, I may start posting some old drafts of pieces I’ve started. Which means that things may be a bit out of order for a little while, but the information will stand on its own nevertheless.
It will be great to interact with you all again, and as usual, feel free to leave comments!
